HEAVY HOLIDAY TRAFFIC ALERT - SYDNEY/NORTH Motorists are advised to plan their trip and allow extra travel time as heavy traffic is expected on the main roads as holidaymakers head out of Sydney for the long weekend. Roads across New South Wales including the M1 Pacific Motorway (F3), Pacific Highway, Princes Highway, Great Western Highway and Hume Motorway all experience a significant rise in traffic volumes as holiday goers hit the road to travel to their destination. Significant traffic delays are also expected in Sydney over the long weekend while many events take place including the International Fleet Review, NRL Grand Final and One Direction concerts and EB Games Expo at Sydney Olympic Park, as well as the Manly Jazz Festival, Parramasala Arts Festival at Parramatta, and Epsom Race Day at Randwick. Anyone heading to these events are urged not to drive as many roads will be closed and special event clearways will be in place. Thousands of extra public transport services will be running to help people travel to all these events and home again afterwards.
