Had a conversation about capitalism as a sustainable model during these times of increase in the gap between the rich and the poor. The prognosis for the future is that the gap will widen and jobs will continue to decline in the future. Capitalism, could not sustain itself and the culture will decline into a nihilistic state. In my opinion, American culture has always chosen to deny its full potential, mostly because we are an inherently racist nation. Our predilection for placing race out front in our policy is on full display....paricularly here in North Carolina. Our elected officials are saying stupid shit because their constituents are requesting a return to 1945. Thats true of local, state and federal elected officials. Truth is, Im a racist too. I love me some Black folks. Nothing on earth likeem. I see them too. That they are all the colors of the humanbow. I love it. And I love me some Asian culture too. Oh yea Im a choicy racist. And Iove my white folks too because my people raised them from 1607 right up to this day. Black America taught white America everything it was and protected whiteness all over the world up until the 1970s and then we integrated and walked away from each other. Go read your history and then find the missing pages of your history and you will find mine. I really love my Native brothers and sisters because they sacrificed every thing for the American experiment. We should halt all legislation until we formally apologize and canonize (like saints of the culture) the remaining Native people in tribute to their suffering and sacrifice. I see color!!!The thing is...I like those colors. Unfortunately, the majority of Americans would rather not discuss your color because we are still xenophobic about other people. Good example....Why is it that nations that are not nearly as powerful or dynamic have far better quality of life than does the ricbest nation on earth? Because they are mostly homogenous....everybody....most folks at least....looks to be from the same tribe. The American experiment is the most unique challenge God has ever given man and we have failed miserably. We are not afraid that our children and grandchildren wont have the American Dream....we would much rather destroy it than share it with those people. That is what the treatment of President Obama is about and that is why in North Carolina, legislation to return voting status to 1950s paradigm is the order of the day from Art Pope and his cronies. RACE..... Americas ugliest 4 letter word. Oh we talk about taxes, school quality, opportunity for our children, we rap our racist tendancies up in nice coded conversations but the shit still stinks. We refuse to grow up and become the nation we are obviously ordained to be. THE GREATEST NATION ON EARTH. Unfortunately, we refuse to accept that responsibility. Ted Cruze refuses, Pat McCrory refuses. Even President Obama and Bill Clinton know they cant challenge America to grow up or they would never get elected but I aint runnin for office, as my Grandma used to say I done already been e-lected. God give me strength to pray for a stiff necked people. We refuse and cling to ignorance and lies in a technological hour that a child can look up statistics on a iphone 5 and know Ted Cruz and the Governor of North Carolina are liars and thieves before a 2 minute add goes off the air. Our children look at us and say...they think were stupid and we do. The worst student in Guilford County Schools can tell you that the political landscape is full of shit. He or she will never go to Harvard but here are all these Harvard and Carolina educated politicians lying like crossties and they expect that the children of this state will view them in history as honorable keepers of the American flame. It just wont happen. Whats wrong with America has nothing to do with government, taxes, education , immigration or for that matter even race is not a problem. We live in one of two nations on earth where historically oppressed and opressor do not blow each other up daily. The other is South Africa. Tell you anything? It tells me that what we already do is fascinating. Sad part is, no other nation on earth has the capacity to define humanity in this age as a collective of great possibility rather than nuclear competitors clinging to and drunk on yesterdays wine. Our future is not in our future, our future is in our right now. If we dont decide to listen to God in the technology and capacity he has blessed us to enjoy and feed his sheep as Jesus suggested,we will live to see in our time a hell that the earth has never witnessed before. Our children will cease talking of dying and going to hell, they will have an address and telephone number in the middle of hell on this earrh. Jesus said the kingdom of heaven is at hand. Your hands, my hands, all of our hands are dirty in the making of a hell whose heat we already feel today. Right now, we would much rather make a hell than make an America, a heaven or anything else that resembles the fine language our ancestors crafted into a Declaration or a Constitution or even the fine phrases given us by Jesus in the Goodbook. We display a militant ignorance. Were just suffering from adolescence and heart disease. We will get better or we will perish together. The time is at hand. Yours and mine. God told us so in Amos. He said we should , Make justice run down like waters, righteousness like a mighty stream. We dont even try to do that. Last thing on earth youll find in our political platform. All of our philosophy and rhetoric espouses these virtues but right now we have a high blood pressure of creeds but an anemia of deeds. As you watch this madness on your television ask yourself, when are we gonna grow up. Soon I hope. I have young children and grandchildren. I write my rage for them. I helped old white men and old black men tear this world up. Maybe some day those same old men, old women, our children and our friends will finally gather the true nerve to Let America be America. Then we will hear from heaven, Well done.
