Had a very teachable moment today. I worshipped at the Central Nairobi Seventh-Day Adventist Church. On arrival, I noticed that the table was set. In my heart, I thanked God because I do not get to share in holy communions in my local church because of the hectic travel schedules. Before then I had a lunch booked with a VIP of the country. An Advisor tothe President of the Republic. Just before foot washing, I received his official communication telling me to meet with him at 1 PM. I replied saying I cannot arrive by 1PM, but maybe 1:30.Foot washing went wall but the service was long. Why was the communion service taking this long? Should I leave the ceremony? Do I have an idea when church will end? Do I even know how far Church is from the RDV place? After some 5 minutes of struggle.. I decided. I will stick with the RDV of the one who loved me and died to save me. I sent a message saying I may not arrive by 1:30. That I was in Church. And the Church was having holy communion. I got a reply. The boss said he had to be at the airport. I prayed in my heart and replied to say I was sorry. That I will call when Im done with Church. I stayed through the service. In the taxi I called the boss. I said I was willing to come meet him at the airport. I did not want to disturb his schedule. He said I should not worry. He was **NOT TRAVELING** but had gone to see some people who are transiting. Let me meet you at the Serena Hotel, he said. I arrived a bit before him and thanked God that by remaining in Church, I did not miss the opportunity of the RDV with the boss. I was comforted in my obedience. He shows up, and I apologized again, saying that I did not know that the Seventh-Day Adventist Church here held services till 2PM. I said that normally, most of the services of the churches end by 12:30 or before 1PM. He said: Yes, I know. I attend church there.
