Had dinner last night with my LONG time friend Mike Evans and his lovely wife Cheryl. Havent seen Mike in over a year (my fault) and normally we talk every other day. I got my start on KROQ when Mike quit to go to another station to do sports and I took his place as the partner of the brilliant Raymondo Banister. I owe so much to both those talented guys because prior to joining KROQ I was doing overnights on KNAC and I would drive home listening to Raymondo and Evans in the morning and thinking how they were redefining what American radio should sound like. I learned so much from the two of them just by listening. Mike has a syndicated radio show on 45+ stations around the country and is as funny now as always. For all of us early KROQ fans (and I include myself in that number as I was a fan before a DJ there) its great to see Mike and Raymond doing so well. Thank you both for your friendship and I can never pay back what you both taught me. Not many people get the opportunity and privilege to work with such true radio legends
