Had to piggyback on the comment by my fellow BTHS alum Phil Headley, as I couldnt have said it better myself. So, lemme get this straight. POLICE can protest the Mayor, AT THE FUNERAL OF AN ASSASSINATED OFFICER, but COMMUNITY protesters, WHO ONLY ASK FOR EQUALITY AND ACCOUNTABILITY should suspend. One form of expression is respectful and valid... the other not so. Therein lies the problem between police and the community. Any criticism of police practice is taken as an attack on all police. Which is tantamount to saying that all police are never wrong... and that the community is never right. With THAT mentality, explain how you differ from a fascist Army of Occupation, as opposed to public servants, sworn to Protect and Serve? And just how hopeful for their pleas for equality should the community protesters be, when the powers that be require them to simply surrender their First Amendment Rights to Petition, Assemble and Express, as a show of respect? Who Serves Who???
