Happy AKAversary to me! 19 years ago we, Deanna Mingo, Tara-Parson Grant, Karelle J Ward, Sh Rogers, and Marion Whitaker become Sorors of the Beta Lambda Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated! This journey has not always been easy, it has had many bumps along the way, I still love my Sisterhood! I have met so many wonderful Sorors along the way, you hold a special place in my heart. I couldnt begin to tag you all but just know I love you! Special shout out to Mrs. RaquelErol George) who went to a rush the year before, was not accepted,but turned around and helped me make my dream come true! She is my Sister in Christ! My second shout out goes to Soror Sheilah Rowe who helped me with my wardrobe. My final shout out goes to Soror Kimberly Lehew, who helped pull me of the ledge when I wanted to throw in the towel! Her calm spirit and great advice stopped me from making an unwise decision because of a very mean Soror! Thanks to Beta Lambda Chapter who saw something in me that reflected the values of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated! I look forward to the next 6 years as I head towards becoming a Silver Star! Skeeeee-Weee!
