Has anyone ever come across a song & listening to the lyrics thought OMG! That songs about ME! Its me to a T. I perform a song with the band called UPSIDE DOWN by PALOMA FAITH & the lyrics pretty much sum my life up perfectly & the type of person I am. Ive always run my life & done things in a back to front topsy-turvy fashion & if my parents were here today they would certainly vouch for that lol. Angels watching over me with smiles upon their face cos I have made it through this far in an unforgiving place. I sometimes feel this hills too steep for a girl like me to climb but I must knock those thoughts right down Ill do it in my own time. I dont care cos Im halfway there, on a road that leads me straight to who knows where For me the angels watching over me are my Mam & Dad cos I like to think that theyre with me in spirit when I perform that particular song as I do it for them.No doubt shaking their heads & rolling their eyes with a big grin on their face. The remaining lyrics pretty much speak for themselves but Hey, nobodys perfect.I was introduced to music & the performing arts round the age of 3, due to much encouragement from my Mam via the Sunday afternoon musical matinee followed by ballet lessons & singing lessons a bit later on. I think Mother had pinned her hopes on me following in the footsteps of SHIRLEY TEMPLE & JUDY GARLAND!!! It wasnt quite the musical route I was later to embark on much to Mothers dismay, despite my love of music And when a young LENA ZAVARRONI first burst onto our screens Mam would say; You were like her when you were younger. You could have gone far til you started listening to that other rubbish. Ah yes,the demon rock.By the time I reached my early teens I discovered another type of music that was to awaken my wild spirit. From that moment on I was on a musical mission & I was going to be another JANIS JOPLIN A rockin rebel. Yesssss. Now THAT was more MY calling You could say that I am now doin more or less what I always wanted to do. I found my forte as it were. I aint ever gonna be famous nor do I wanna be. I just love rockin out with the band doin my own thing beltin out the tunes. For me thats what its all about, not fame & fortune. Why Ill probably still be rockin out when Im on a zimmer! And beleive me peeps I aint jokin when I say Im almost there! Lol. I just wish my Mam & Dad were still around to see that I finally achieved hat I wanted.Ive reached my goals in life & Im happy. So there you have it folks, the song relating to the story of my entire life. Quite simply......me This was only meant to be a short status by the way which has almost turned into an autobiography. My apologies for that peeps. Hmmmmmmm, now THERES an idea...........
