Head Coach Lynn Bria Signs Contract Extension Through 2019 DeLand, Fla. -- After leading the Hatters to a school-record 27-win season and their fourth straight postseason appearance, Stetson University womens basketball head coach Lynn Bria has signed a contract extension through 2019, Director of Athletics Jeff Altier announced on Tuesday. It has been amazing to see Coach Bria take the womens basketball program to higher win totals and new levels of success year after year, Altier said. While the programs achievements have been significant, I am confident that the future is even brighter and the best is yet to come. Over the past four seasons, Bria has guided the Hatters to two Atlantic Sun Conference Championships, two NCAA Tournament appearances, two WNIT appearances, and four straight 20+ win seasons for a total of 94 victories. Last season was the most successful campaign in school history as the Hatters won a school-record 27 games including a record 16-straight at one point. Stetson also won its first-ever NCAA postseason game, a 70-63 victory at Miami in the WNIT. I am very happy to have the opportunity to stay at Stetson, Bria said. I really appreciate all of the support that Jeff Altier and President Dr. Wendy Libby continue to give our program. I love this place and I am really excited to be here. In her six seasons at the helm of the program, Bria has led the Hatters to a 108-87 overall mark. She has seen 11 of her student-athletes earn Atlantic Sun all-conference recognition, including 2014 Freshman of the Year Amber Porter, and 31 players have been selected as an A-Sun weekly award winner. Brias 19-year career as a head coach includes 261 victories and three conference championships.
