Hear now O Joshua the high priest, thou, and thy fellows that sit - TopicsExpress

Hear now O Joshua the high priest, thou, and thy fellows that sit before thee: for they are men wondered at: for behold, I will bring forth my servant the B R A N C H. And speak unto him, saying, Thus speaketh the LORD of hosts, saying, Behold, the man whose name is the BRANCH; and he shall grow up out of his place, and he shall build the temple of the LORD: Even he shall build the temple of the LORD, and he shall bear the glory; and shall sit and rule upon his throne; and he shall be a priest upon his throne: and the counsel of peace shall be between them both. In that day there shall be a fountain opened to the house of David and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem for sin and for uncleaness. Listen, O isles unto me; and hearken, ye people, from far; the LORD hath called me from the womb; from the bowels of my mother hath he made mention of my name. And he made my mouth like a sharp sword; in the shadow of his hand hath he hid me, and made me a polished shaft; in his quiver hath he hid me. And he said unto me, Thou ART my servant, O Israel, in whom I will be glorified. Then I said, I have laboured in vain, I have spent my strength for nought, and in vain: YET surely my judgment IS with the LORD, and my work with my God. Therefore thus saith the LORD God, Behold, I lay in Zion for a foundation stone, a tried stone, a precious corner STONE, a sure foundation: he that believeth shall not make haste. For behold the stone that I have laid before Joshua; upon one stone shall be seven eyes: behold I will engrave the graving thereof; saith the LORD of hosts, and I will remove the iniquity of that land in one day. And he shall be for a sanctuary; but for a stone of stumbling and for a rock of offence to both the houses of Israel, for a gin and for a snare to the inhabitants of Jerusalem. And many among them shall stumble and fall, and be broken, and be snared and be taken.
