HeartLine 2-1-1 sennt along this information on Monday. As Oklahoma bands together to respond to the recent tornadoes Heart-Line 2-1-1 is doing our part to compile the most accurate and up-to-date resources for disaster response and recovery. In times of disaster 2-1-1 is a free 24-hour phone service that provides Oklahomans access to information on how to give help or get help simply by dialing “2-1-1”. As residents start the recovery process, there are still many needs to be addressed. HeartLine is working quickly to gather valuable resources, and HeartLine is committed to providing only verified and accurate resources. Partnering with FEMA and volunteers from AmeriCorps, HeartLine 2-1-1 has instant access to debris removal information. It is important to get volunteers out into the community, before City-hired contractors, to safely and efficiently sort and remove debris. It is important to separate and sort debris so that it can be recycled and/or safely disposed of, which will save taxpayer money as we move into long term recovery. This will also allow the city to save money and resources, provide opportunities for the large amount of volunteers in the area, and get homeowners the immediate help they need. HeartLine is continually updating our resources. If we are unable to answer your question when you call, please call back to see if we have updated resources. Our mission is to connect Oklahomans to help, hope, and information – 24 hours a day and we are committed to that mission during this difficult and trying time. “Just as 9-1-1 has become an essential part of fire, police and medical response, 2-1-1 helps meet non-emergency health and human service needs. 2-1-1 plays a vital role in connecting Oklahomans to help, hope, and information,” says Kelly Nutter, HeartLine’s Executive Director. HeartLine and the Tulsa Community Service Council are independent 501(c)(3) non-profit organizations that are funded partially through United Way as partner agencies.
