Helios has been very sad these past few days. He just lays around - TopicsExpress

Helios has been very sad these past few days. He just lays around looking sad. He doesnt perk up when I pet and give him a scratch. He doesnt purr. Part of the reason is because Phoebe is still mean to him occasionally. When I see her do that, I tell her to stop and then cradle her in my arms like a baby. I tell her to be nice to Helios, but she just pushes against my chin with a paw and looks way. She has such cattitude. Helios was worrying me so much that after work tonight I decided to take him out on the town. First, I trimmed all of his claws - front and back. Thats because I know he will freak out and try to get away from me. Once his claws were trimmed, I snuck him out to my van. He was scared of the noisy clothes washer as we passed through the laundry room. Once in my van he was a little less scared, but he still wouldnt purr or rub up against my hand or climb on me. He was very sad. We went to PetSmart to get him a canned treat. He was very nervous there and didnt care about the treat. I put him on a cat tree, but he didnt like that so we paid for the can of food and left. I dumped the can of food into a bowl in my van. He only sniffed it and walked away. Next we headed to the Post Office to empty the junk mail from the PO Box. Helios started acting like his previous self, rubbing up against me and looking happy. After the PO Box he was his old self. Very happy, evening purring, climbing on me, rubbing up against me, and being generally the happy kitty I used to know. After our last errand, Helios was so happy, he was talking to me doing the purrr meow and the happy meow that all cat owners know. He even laid on my stomach against my chest watching the road. I slightly recline my seat which allows him, and the other cats, to sit there without sliding off. Helios was very happy until we started back into the house. At that point I had to hold him tight, which is why I trimmed all of this claws. When he saw the bedroom door, he started struggling to get away from me. He did it, but I cornered him in the closet outside the room then tossed him inside (it was a gentle, low underhand forward motion). Helios is now back up on his perch, but Phoebe did want to sniff him when he first returned. She did a,hey, let me smell you motion with a paw. He isnt as happy as he was outside, but at least he is engaging my hands when I scratch and rub him with a little bit of purring. This is why we need to get this house. There is about eight times the room in this tiny house for the cats to roam. All of them can have their own space, plenty of room for high platforms, window beds, and cat trees. Plus, I can attach the outdoor kennel to the house and install a cat door to it. The only problem is the Underwriter is not so sure he will approve the loan due to my low income. Even if I get the house, my budget will be so tight I probably wont have Internet. I might have to film a bunch of videos then go to the library spending all my days off uploading them. I am waiting to hear back on a much better paying job. They are waiting for the big boss to decide on second interviews. I sent the big boss a very professional first interview follow up letter highlighting my professional experience and how it will benefit them and their clients. I need everyone to pray and send good thoughts that I get this job. This job would actually be a career with excellent benefits that I would keep until the day that I die. And the pay would allow for a better budget.
