Hello Lifer Community, Today I received the distinct honor of being welcomed to the Ironwood and Chuckawalla Prison Family and Friends Group. I especially want to encourage anyone who has family and friends at either of these prisons, as well as the entire Lifer Community, to support this group and all of the other family and friends groups. We are all in this together, we are stronger when we work together, and we are blessed that much more when we share our trials, tribulations, and blessings with one another. Robin Williams, may he rest in peace, suffered in silence and the darkness destroyed his joy, his hope, and his belief that tomorrow would be better if he just held on. So lets offer unconditional support and encouragement. We never know whats going on with someone and how your words, support, and encouragement may be just want someone needs to make it through and to hold onto the unchanging hand of God. Im a lifer attorney so I wont pretend to understand what each of you deal with day in and day out. My hat is off to each of you because while I know that the work I do can be challenging and emotionally draining at time and requires me to dig deep and hold onto Gods hand for dear life and sanity -- especially when I know the Board just screwed over one of my clients or any other Lifer, I dont know if I could do what each of you do having your life partner and loved ones in prison serving a life sentence and not knowing when they will be coming home. You are strong women and you are seriously holding it down!!!!! So bravo to each and everyone of you. So what keeps me going is knowing that I am running my race and honoring the purpose God has destined for my life and career, having clients say I give them and their fellow inmates hope, and seeing soooo many lifers walk through the gates of freedom.
