Ira Lee started singing as a child in front of the rabbit hutch in the make-shift barn which was a garage in his home town of Kingsbury, Indiana - Population: 250 people. He loved singing for the rabbits - no criticizing! After finishing high school, he moved to Chicago where he studied with the great Russian teachers, David & Bella Atkin, at the Goodman Theater. The Stage Manager in Our Town was his favorite role while there. Moving to New York City after three years at the Goodman, he did Dinner Theater. For his work in Pajama Tops, critic Lane Crockett said: Collings is a standout! - he walks away with the play! In Play It Again, Sam, critic Alan Moore said: Next to Woody Allen himself, I cant imagine anyone better in the role of Allan than Lee Collings. After many years of Open Mics in New York City, he took a 25-year hiatus from Show Business and re-emerged six years ago in Cabaret with his full name, Ira Lee Collings. And now at age 79, come and see Gay Geezer Power at work in this show! REVIEWS: I was especially taken with his delivery of “No Matter What Happens. As sung by Collings, it’s anthemic and brave. - Mark Dundas Wood (simplyshowbiz)“A true lesson in the real meaning of Cabaret” - Stu Hamstra CABARET HOTLINE-ONLINE “He reminded me of Charles Aznavour - his singing was so touching” - Bernie Rachelle, Actor (Spike Lee’s THE INSIDE MAN) What a fantastic show! Songs with real, meaningful lyrics, sung superbly by Lee. He gave a riveting, star-quality performance” - Kay Williams CALLIOPE PRESS “Lee Collings doesn’t choose run-of-the-mill songs” - Jennie Schulman BACKSTAGE VIDEOS: Ira Lee Collings - Havent Got a Worry Havent Got A Worry youtu.be/LWZ7FGY3NYg No Matter What Happens youtu.be/ePNIsgm9Zy8 Lover Man youtu.be/16eLTI0rgmc Nothing Can Stop Me Now youtu.be/yUM7STrmmX0 Misty youtu.be/gbTIKZzMZsQ Lost In Loveliness youtu.be/9aWuznuOrEg In A World We Never Made image Ira Lee Collings - Havent Got a Worry View on youtu.be Preview by Yahoo
