Helo Dr. Lele. I am Dr. Ashok Sonambekar, consultant ENT - TopicsExpress

Helo Dr. Lele. I am Dr. Ashok Sonambekar, consultant ENT surgeon. I am sure you are in the best form of health and doing your level best for the interests of allopathic Drs. I am writing to you because I humbly feel that an allopathic Drs practice is deliberately made more & more difficult and not by somebody else but unfortunately by our own people. I hope u will find time in your busy schedule to go through this letter. 1 ) Dr. Lele, when I started my practice in 1978. I had my aurvedic friend with his post graduaye degree as MAVSc ( master of aurvedic sciences, equivalent to our MD or MS.) However , soon , the aurvedic association realized that it will be difficult to compete with allopathic pgs with this qualification- Mavsc. So they cunningly changed the name & the same qualification was called as M.D. That time our association did nothing ! However , they again came to know that most of the people in our society know that MD is a qualification of a Dr. who treats the patients with medicine and MS is a Dr who treats with surgery. So degrees like MD- ent, MD- surg. was inconvenient to the aurvedic pgs. So they, for the second time , very cunningly changed the name of their pg qualification to MS. That time also, our association did nothing. And now we see many Drs. with MS qualifications & nobody knows whether this MS Dr. is a aurvedic or allopathic ! Because they never mention that he / she is an aurvedic Dr. In short, the aurvedic governing body did their level best to push up their Drs into the market and impose tough competition for allopahs. They did their level best to safe guard the intetests of aurvedic Drs. What about our association & our governing bodies ? Our MMC has made practice of our members , more & more difficult by imposong various restrictions. One such , is an introduction of credit points. One has to earn 30 points in 5 yrs to continue the name in the register. Minimum 6 points in a yr. if some body gets 10 points in one yr. and two points in the next year, there by amounting the sum for two years, is not allowed. he or she can not practise ! Previously it was mentioned in the web site of MMC , that after age of 65 credit points will be optional . But now it is 70 yrs.! What about other pathies ? Now govt. is allowing homeopaths to practise allopathy., same is the case with aurvedic , and surprisingly with unani people. ( pl find the news paper news regarding this ) And the real people , who have studied allopathy for many years, who have shown high merits for getting admissions in the allopathic courses , are subjected to the compulsipn of obtaining credit points , if they want to practise allopathy. Dr. Lele dont you think this is grossly irrational ? Grossly un- justified ? 2) Recently MMC served notices to 90 allopathic practitioners why your registrations should not be cancelled ? It is learnt that the offence of the doctors was , they advertised their PROFESSION in the local news papers. The practitioners were forced to submit their unconditional apology to MMC for continuing their practise. But Dr. Lele , what our association or MMC does about the advertisements done by the other pathy doctors, like , False claims of avoiding bypass surgery by Madhavbag Treatments, avoidance of joint replacements by Teb treatments , treatment and cure for psoriasis by aurvedic treatments , various advertisements in the famous Sakal magazine- Family Doctor . These Drs are attracting huge crowds by actively advertising their clinics. ( pl find here with the news paper image. ) So I humbly feel that , when the other councils are actively pushing up their candidates to compete with Allopathic practitioners , our own people sitting their in MMC are doing their level best to make the practise of allopaths as much difficult as possible. If you consider the present scenario in our country , it is like this- to practise Allopathy has now become the Fundamental Right of any doctor irrespective of his pathy , irrespective of the education he or she has reveived . So in this scenario the real allopathic fellow should not be deprived of his right to ptactise Allopathy . I request you to kindly share your thoughts about this topic with me. sincerely yours, Dr. Ashok Sonambekar. Consultant E.N.T. Surgeon.
