Here are 10 things that Louise may or may not know about me: 1. I enjoy taking enrichment classes. I’ve taken French, Italian, drawing, photography, script writing, film making, lots of cooking and baking classes, ballet, sports (mostly tennis and skiing), typing, and most recently, print making. I’ve taken some of these multiple times; I’m always signing up for a class in something or other. 2. Bob McBride taught me gardening twenty years ago. I was a total failure at growing things before then. Now my garden is a favorite part of my life, and Bob taught me everything I know. Credit should go to those that tried to teach me earlier, but I guess the pupil wasn’t ready. 3. Professionally and in business, I am plagued by self-doubt and insecurity, sometimes to the point of paralysis. 4. In private life, I am fearless. Also fearless in the kitchen; will attempt anything. 5. I have an irrational lifelong fear of eggs. I can’t touch an uncooked or partially cooked egg without screaming or gagging. Eating them is out of the question. This makes baking more difficult than it needs to be. 6. I am not a good driver. 7. I love the Pre Raphaelite artists and other Victorian era painters. I have traveled far to see exhibitions of these works. But I like contemporary art and photography nearly as well. 8. I belong to a reading group called The Trollope Society. We read the works of the 19th century British novelist Anthony Trollope and discuss them at length, almost daily. 9. I read a part of at least one book everyday. Prefer English literary fiction but read many other things in addition to that. 10. I do love me some hip hop. I think that right now, it’s the only form of popular American music that is truly of its time and place, authentic and original. I think this stuff is vital when so much other popular music is derivative.
