Here is a code that a lot of designers/installers do not know of. On top of that, I have never been asked by an AHJ to verify this. If you have a fire alarm/dedicated function system that is connected to a central station, at least one pull station shall be placed on a separate zone/circuit that will not be taken off line when the system is on test. This is a backup in the event of an emergency or fire and is only intended for the technician or building personnel not the general public. The PS shall be located at the sprinkler riser, fire control panel or an area approved by the AHJ. This can be found in NFPA 72 2010 Section 23.8.5.1.2 and A23.8.5.1.2
