Here is a video showing the M6.5 solar flare from sunspot region - TopicsExpress

Here is a video showing the M6.5 solar flare from sunspot region 2113 which peaked at 16:20 UTC. The video shows the solar flare in three different wavelengths and with the help of 193A difference footage. The difference footage shows us the shock wave as it travels trough the corona and coronal dimming, darkening of the corona which suggest the launch of a CME. A coronal mass injection was indeed launched and now visible on STEREO footage. The CME is likely directed away from Earth but we have to wait for LASCO images to confirm this. Sunspot region 2113 is actually a fairly simple region so this solar flare came by surprise. It will still take a few days before this region is in a good geo-effective position but more flux emergence could give us another M-class flare in the next few days. Follow it live on spaceweatherlive Footage from NASA Solar Dynamics Observatory (Little SDO) & Nariaki Nitta.
