Here is another: sorry for yall that dont like to see recipes on Facebook... Perfect Caramel Apples.. I dont make the whole apple ...thats too much...cut up in quarters...and put the whole apples in hot boiling water, but take them out quickly and wipe the wax off with a cotton towel..let them cool .. Mix 2 cups pf sugar, 1/4 cup of lite Karo and 1/2 cup of water in a small saucepan...Bring to a boil over med-high heat, stirring just until the sugar dissolves. Cook, swirling the pan ( do not stir) until the mixture is light amber and the candy thermometer registers 320 8-10 min..( mine took a little longer). Remove from heat, slowly whisk in 1/2 cup of heavy cream, then 2 Tbsp of unsalted butter. 1 tsp vanilla and a pinch of salt..Return to low heat and whisk until smooth.. Insert sticks into the stem ends ( I used party toothpicks for the slices) ..dip the apples into the caramel, letting the excess drip off..roll in toppings if you like...let them cool on a parchment -lined baking sheet coated with cooking spray...I used butter...do not put them on waxed paper..I tried this and they will stick..
