The readers of Lake Superior Magazine have named Downtown Ashland as among the Best Shopping Experiences for 2014. The August/September issue of the magazine is being delivered now to our subscribers and to newsstands around the Lake, North America – to all 50 U.S. states and most Canadian provinces – and to the world in 20 foreign countries. So you could be hearing a lot of buzz soon that has your name in it, and we wanted to let you know in advance. By August 1, the article announcing the award winners also will be posted on our website at LakeSuperior. That day we will send out press releases alerting local, regional and national media about the awards. You will soon receive a copy of the magazine and tearsheets, along with a certificate that you can mount and proudly show the world what you’ve earned. You can download the award logo from one of the links below. Feel free to post it or use it as you’d like in your own promotions, advertising or on your website. Our magazine started in 1979 and we have a Best of the Lake each year, using different categories. To encourage voting this year, we inserted a pullout survey into the April/May issue of Lake Superior Magazine and into the Lake Superior Travel Guide, we also sent out press releases and put announcements on our website, Facebook pages and Twitter. In the mail and online, we received responses from Montreal to New Orleans and across the United States and Canada. We got more than 1,200 voters this year. So you certainly earned your award with votes of confidence from our readers that told us you are their favorite. My highest congratulations – you indeed are among The Best of the Lake.
