Here is the info for the Dutch Oven Camporee Frontier District Dutch Oven Camporee Date: Friday, October 4 - 6, 2013 Place: Hawk Mountain Scout Reservation Teams: Teams will participate as a Troop/Crew. Each team will submit (1) breakfast meal, (1) lunch meal, (1) dinner meal, and (1) dessert meal for judging. Schedule: Friday 6:30-8:00pm Troop/Crew Check-in/Set-up 9:00-10:00pm Leaders/SPL Meeting/Cracker Barrel 11:00pm Lights out Saturday 6:30am Wake-up 8:00am Flag Ceremony 8:30am Dutch Oven Breakfast Judging Begin 10:00am-12:00pm Merit Badge Alley 12:30pm Dutch Oven Lunch Judging Begins 2:00-4:00pm Merit Badge Alley 5:30pm Dutch Oven Dinner and Dessert Judging Begins 7:00-8:30pm Camporee Campfire and Awards Ceremony 11:00pm Lights out Sunday 8:30am Depart for home Equipment: Each Troop must provide their own equipment: Blue Merit Badge Cards Charcoal Dutch Oven(s) (2 Minimum) Cookware/Utensils Water Cooking Supplies/Food Camping Gear (e.g., tents) First Aid Kit Oven Mitts/Hot Gloves/Pliers Any additional gear your Troop/Crew (sufficient enough to handle a hot Dutch oven) may wish to use ***NOTE*** FRONTIER DISTRICT AND HAWK MOUNTAIN COUNCIL WILL NOT SUPPLY ANY FOOD, EQUIPMENT, OR SUPPLIES FOR THIS EVENT Merit Badges: The following merit badges will be offered: Photography Orienteering Woodcarving Geocaching Weather Salesmanship Fingerprinting Camping Merit badges are subject to change depending on availability of counselors. Merit Badge Counselors will be available during the Camporee for Scouts to BEGIN Merit Badge work. Because of the limited time, Scouts will need to make arrangements with the Merit Badge Counselor to complete the Merit Badge AFTER the Camporee. All Scouts are encouraged to come to the Camporee with prerequisites completed.
