Here it is: Favourite 80s tune we had on replay all the way into 90s! Hard to believe Quincy Jones wanted Michael Jackson to record & add this song to the album Thriller (which he was producing at the time.) Acclaimed Producer Q. Jones usually gets what he wants (as did MJ!) Luckily the keys player from Rufus who wrote it, held his ground to showcase Chaka Khans vocals. Consequently this old school funk band Rufus & fans like me won too! Just love how it begins, builds from keys & bass & then big phat drums! Also that addictive repeating synthesizer loop which he (Wiki) says was all he started with. As much as I love MJ, cannot imagine anyone but Chaka Khan doing this song! Imagine Michael vocal? No way! youtu.be/SvPZo52X5vo
