Heres a situation where my skill for remembering very unimportant - TopicsExpress

Heres a situation where my skill for remembering very unimportant details about seemingly inconsequential things came in handy. I went to Shoprite yesterday morning to get my dad a newspaper. I saw a spot to park so I headed over, and when I get there, theres a Mercedes idling facing my car just opposite the spot from me. My signals on, the other cars isnt so I figure the driver, who I vaguely recognize from somewhere (but I cant place it), is not interested in that parking spot. I gave her a second anyway before I pull in just in case. As Im stepping out of my car, the other car pulls up just behind my bumper and the lady driving starts yelling at me that I took the spot she was going to take. I shrug because its relatively early and there are enough open spots that parking shouldnt be a problem. I reply, You didnt have your signal on. I cant read your mind. Granted I didnt say that politely but I also didnt say it impolitely either. The lady went off on how I shouldnt be telling her how to drive. I interrupt, annoyed, Hey turn signals arent optional. Its the law. Her response ticked me off. I kid you not she said, How dare you talk down to me. Look at the car Im driving compared to yours. Im in a Mercedes and you drive a mini-van. Then I realized where Id seen her before. She was at the gas station near my house a few days ago the last time I went to fill up the Minivanium Falcon. Now the reason I remember her is because she was pretty loud then, too. She was on her cellphone and I distinctly recall her saying, Hi this is Becky returning your call. So naturally in my best dad voice I said, Now, Rebecca... She was so surprised I said her name she drove away from me and then drove right out of the parking lot. Becky never did make it to Shoprite that morning.
