The following positions serve on the board and are open to nomination: All VTA Board Members are expected to attend monthly meetings Self-nominations are acceptable. If you are interested in a position or nominating someone please send the name of the nominee along with the position desired to [email protected] Where there is more than one candidate for a position, elections will be held at the AGM. President - keep the club operating on a day to day basis, make sure we stay on task and in budget, call and chair board meetings, be the face of the VTA, answer enquiries from members and the public Nominated: Harry Young Vice-President - support the president; provide strategic direction, responsible for Tennis BC league and team competitions, update bylaws and constitution as required Nominated: Charles Friesen Tournament Director - plan and run 3 club tournaments, oversee Vancouver International Pride tournament or recruit VIP tournament director Nomination - No one is currently registered! Play-Night Director - manage weekly play sessions, recruit and manage volunteers for play sessions, court bookings, and answer issues that arise concerning play sessions, manage player sign-up for sessions Nominated: Bryce Burns Communications Coordinator - manage and update website as need arises, prepare, format, and distribute club communications and newsletter with content from other board members Nominated: Collin Koo Treasurer - accounting for club financing, keep orderly financial records, reports on financial status at board meetings, yearend reporting, manage bank account and issue cheques Nominated: Roger Merkosky Secretary - maintain and update membership list, transcribe and distribute minutes at board meetings Nominated: Otto Chan Social Coordinator (officially Member Services) - plan and manage 4-5 social events per year Nominated: Vangie Johnson
