Hey Portland. Unfortunately we’ve had to pull out of tonight’s show at the last minute as well. We will try and make it up to you as soon as we can. An update on what is happening: Brendan had been experiencing nosebleeds for a few days last week and finally on Saturday he had a bunch of successive bleeds where he lost a lot of blood. We had to stop about 3/4 of the way through our set in LA at the Satellite when he started bleeding all over his bass (FYI, his bass looks pretty badass). He went to the ER where they diagnosed that a blood vessel in his nose had burst and just wasn’t healing. They inflated a balloon up his nose to stop the bleeding. It didn’t seem to work. So he went back to another ER the next morning where they gave him fluids, monitored his vitals and tested him for all the scary stuff (all testing came back negative on cancer-y, blood disease-y stuff for which we are very thankful) so they jammed some more balloons up there and sent him off. We drove part way to Portland last night and later in the day the bleeding began once again pretty hard. We spent the night in Redding where they tried to cauterize the vessel and then lock it in with another balloon. It was all good until we pulled close to Portland and it started up again. He lost a bunch of blood. So we are now at the hospital in Portland where Brendan is waiting to see a specialist to try and nip this in the bud. We are all super bummed out. Most of all Brendan. He (and we) really wants to get back to playing shows as soon as possible for you all. That’s what we love to do. But we need to make sure that Brendan gets healed up. We will keep you posted.
