Hey friends! Megan asked me to post this so we can all be praying. Megan, Brett & Nolan are up visiting family in Maryland this week. This morning, with no prior symptoms, Nolan began to have strange hiccuping and retching episodes. Since he cant vomit due to his Nissan Megan emptied his belly via g-tube and found a lot of mucus. When Nolan was unable to tolerate any liquids without retching and saying he was uncomfortable, the Stripes (following the advice of Nolans pediatric g-tube surgeon, I think) took him to a nearby emergency room. In all likelihood, Nolans Nissan has slipped off kilter somehow and is moving up into his chest cavity. They are at the hospital now trying to rule out anything else (like concussion or stomach flu), but if nothing is conclusive they will be transported to a childrens hospital for surgery to revise/repair the Nissan later today--Johns Hopkins is likely. Please pray for the Lord to protect and sustain Nolan. Please pray for peace for the Stripes, especially Megan, who has already been struggling with anxiety this week. Please pray that the doctors and all caregivers will have wisdom and clarity on what Nolan needs. One good thing is that now Nolan is able to talk and communicate what he is feeling!
