Hey guys! Its been a little bit since checking in last. Just thought Id stop by while I sit here listening to our little shark Fin sing himself to sleep for nap to share a couple things. First, no new updates on Fins medical journey really except I believe he is getting the hang of his orthotics. So, yay for that! I will for sure keep you guys in the loop though. Trying to stay away from frustration, but it grows harder as the days go by. We choose to fill our days with blessings instead. Next, here are a few pics. The first is of Finny and a pumpkin he found when we visited a local orchard. He called it a beddy button pumpkin. It had a deep place he poked his chubby little finger that he was calling the belly button. So cute! Next is a pic of the latest war wounds of his recent spill today. He is such a trooper. Better than mom for sure! There are days I dont want to tell him no running outside; just be a kid. Do what your siblings and friends do. All kids fall and get clumsy and get bumps, bruises, and scrapes. Then these happen, I lose my breath for a minute, regroup, and remember that there are ways to keep him safer and be a kid that gets to enjoy fun within the limits he has. Like running on grass instead, which his therapists agree is good for him anyhow. Speaking of therapists suggestions, the next pic is of our stairs. Whats the big deal? Well, the vision therapist that visited a bit ago told us to do this. Those are strips of brightly colored tape that attract Fins eyes to try to see the contrast and know where the steps are ending and beginning. So far, they have worked well and Fin is trying more and more to navigate up and down. Yay!! The last pic is of Fin pushing a grocery cart through the store with items for our churchs annual Pack the Pantry event. This is where our pastor delivers a sermon and then puts us all into action by going to local stores and buying items to help stock the local food pantries. Its a favorite for my family as the kids get to be involved. Besides, we try to teach our kids that actions speak louder than words, and this is a great exercise for that. We have been so overwhelmingly blessed by others helping us during the times we needed it most that it is beyond our pleasure to know we can help again. You just never know when your family will need help too, so isnt it nice to know others care? Besides, why not get a first hand experience with the awesome feeling of giving?! So thats it for now. I hope you all enjoy this lovely day. We love you all! Thanks for checking in!
