Hi Everyone Mum here tonight:) Jaks had another mixed day with his body being at probably the lowest point post chemo where every blood count is low and hes finding it difficult to eat etc. Because Jak became so seriously ill so quickly he has a lot of rehab to do as well as deal with all the chemo he has had to endure and his amazing Doctors are very happy with his progress overall. He had a routine CT scan today to check the lymph nodes and the small amount of fluid left in his chest. He got more blood and antibiotics today and his temperature is still up most of the time which could be the actual disease itself rather than an area of infection but it has come down a notch from what it has been and has been more consistently lower. Little steps are all we need at the moment and we are happy. When his fab team of physios came in this morning he wasnt for doing anything but this afternoon he stood again and was delighted. He is absolutely exhausted and we have again stopped all visitors including some who have been coming regularly to give him not only the rest he and his body needs but also the best chance of recovery without catching anything from anyone. Again please give thanks for his amazing team of world class and as far as we are concerned a league of their own medical team:) Please also pray for the cells that are left that they are destroyed with the ongoing work of the chemo and that there is a marked improvement in his lymph nodes and chest fluid is ok. Please Please pray that he continues to improve and get stronger every day and beat this nasty disease completely. Jak, Aimie and I would also like to pay tribute to very special friends of ours- Kirsten and Colin Brown who laid their beautiful baby girl to rest today after a 5 month battle with Krabbe disease. I was unable to attend but Aimie went on behalf of us as one of the first things Jak did when he woke from his coma was ask how Eilish was. Our thoughts and prayers are with them and their gorgeous boys tonight. I think its really hit me over the last 2 days just how much people are suffering every day and we dont see it- hundreds and hundreds of people go through horrific treatments day in day out to save their lives and until you actually see what goes on I know I certainly never realised just what an ordeal it is for them- an ordeal they never asked for or deserved but go through with dignity, humility and an amazing strength. My boy is just amazing- his grace and acceptance of his horrible situation and determination to beat this and kick it right out of the footy pitch is just second to none. Those of you that know Jak know he was a bit of a typical boy when he was a lot younger- but over the last 2-3 years he has turned into the most amazing kind caring thoughtful and loving young man- and even now in the midst of his pain and suffering he is polite, courteous, humorous and caring towards everyone around him. Jak I am soo proud of you and I just know you are going to win this battle:)xxx
