Hi Owen I hope you dont give up. Easy for me to talk when I know nothing of your condition. I presume you have gone the whole hog in finding a way to stop the deterioration? I have just passed the 5 year mark after a triple bypass in 2009 and thanked the cardiologist and surgeon as follows - Hi Drs Potts and Sewsunker, I thought it about time I wrote and thanked you for putting my 73 year life back on track. I had the chest invasion on August 14 2009, so the 5th anniversary has come and gone. In this time I have enjoyed a normal life, including regular hiking every week, frequent intake of beers, constant weight at 80kg, and the occasional stirring of my little loin-man. Looking back, my old habit of smoking and eating irregularly (yet my weight was 95kg), did me no good. I will always remember Dr Potts lauding my quick decision to have the operation, on his recommendation, and Dr Sewsunkers great bedside manner, asking why I was still in hospital. If you ever need someone to reassure your patients that the procedure and recovery is an uplifting experience, call on me. Thank you and regards. Alan Hancock. PS. I meant to include, in my earlier days I ran 4 Comrades Ultra Marathons and hiked plenty, including 5 Fish River Canyons (Namibia). No guarantee against heart problems. Owen please let this opening still be there for you. Regards and best wishes.
