Hi folks this past weekend dad and I have been here at our cottage. We did a lot of work and I did a lot of genealogical research in our family. My cousin Phyllis was very helpful with the info she sent me. Saturday and Sunday I went over to the Richland Township cemetery where many of our relatives are buried. My goal was to find the headstones and burial sites of my Great Great Grandparents Hans and Geptke Vander Vlucht also spelled Vander Vlught. They are located in section 22-2. Saturday and Sunday I spent hours there looking at every headstone with my dad. I went earlier today and searched in the rain with an umbrella. In the way back here I stopped at a Veterinary clinic just down the road from the cemetery. I told the folks there who I was and asked them if they knew anyone who could get me a plot map of the cemetery. They told me to go to a funeral home in McBain that is next to a Subway restaurant. I went there and talked to the funeral director and he called someone he knew who could get me the info and he said he would call me when he gets the info. A little later he calls me and said tv at he had a photostat of the map. I headed over there and a wonder lady explained how use the plot map. I went back to the cemetery and I found their headstones. A funny thing happened that I had no idea I would experience when I saw their headstones. I dropped to my knees, got real emotional and tears flowed down my cheek. I am getting emotional even as I write this. :) I want to share the pics I took. My cousin Phyllis told me that her sister Alice was at the cemetery a few years ago and found the headstones under an evergreen tree and that my Great Great Grandmothers stone was laying flat. When I found both stones they are now up right. Someone must have put them back in the up right position. Here are the pics;
