Hillbilly Post..Sunday.. Evening Edition... My mother would have been 39 today, for the umpteenth time! I miss her everyday. Thinking back on some fond childhood memorys today. The absolute earliest memory I have of my mom was when I was not yet 13 months old. I know some will find that hard to believe but its the truth. We were moving to Richlands Va. I dont remember moving there but I do remember living in a small house under a big house. Anyway we were at my Grandmas house in Nolan WV and it was at Christmas time. My mom took me into grandmas bedroom and layed me on her bed. Thats the first memory I have of my mom. There was a bare lightbulb that hung down in the middle of the room and a big Santa head on the wall. I remember being afraid of the Santa head. Pretty sure I didnt know who he was yet. I also remember that I could still see the light bulb after closing my eyes. I guess thats actually the first thing I remember period. That was in 1969. For the first 44 years of my life my Mom was a fixture in my life. Her love for her kids was without peer. She raised 4 great kids and would tell everybody how proud she was of us. I love and miss you Mom....Peace out.
