Hollywood History breeding Hate: By Mark Mariduena Jr When I was in school we went to school on Martin Luther King Day. But now kids get to take the day off. That isnt what Martin Luther King Jr would have wanted. He would have wanted children to spend the day together, all races learning about their history. He would have wanted the day to be made to be thankful for our freedoms, and for us to remember the people who fought for the civil rights that people seem to have taken for granted. We all need to be thankful for Martin Luther Kings legacy. So many times his legacies and others have been portrayed in movies, and documentaries. But with these second, third and fourth hand accounts comes a feeling of hatred. Hatred toward the oppressors that caused these conflicts back in the 40s and 50s. But then why does that same hate affect me. Why do I get treated differently just because the color of my skin? It is 2015 and still today I cant even walk through my town without feeling a sense of uneasiness when I see someone walking down the street and they dont say hello. Some people pretend I am not there. Others scowl and mutter things like whats that white boy doing in our neighborhood? I am 26 years old I was born in 1988 and I wasnt born in the 40s and 50s so please dont hate me. I wasnt even born!!!
