Samaila Suleiman: First among Equal! • Posted by Bello Ahmadu Alkammawa on June 27, 2013 at 7:00am The leadership style with which Hon Samaila Suleiman is running the Kaduna North Local Government has not only endeared him to the hearts of many the chairman earn their respects but has revealed in him a rare model young politician of our generation. He impresses people with his detribalized nature and honest attitude to work that is geared towards making the local government a model. Young and eloquent engineer has prove to all and sundry that he come to used his vast experience in bringing good innovations to his people through meaningful projects that cannot only boost their economic activities but it will make them to become self-reliant as well as peaceful loving citizens in future. The first to become chairman of Kaduna North Local Government under the platform of CPC make these words after his taking oath before late Sir Patrick Ibrahim Yakowa, “I do not consider myself worthy to take up this job, but I do believe that in His infinite mercy our God qualifies those He appoints. Beyond the historic significance of what has just taken place, I do not consider this heavy burden of being your Chairman an achievement but a metaphor for understanding the fact that with God, indeed all things are possible. Perhaps we need to pause for moment and appreciate where we have come from and why our beloved Local Government is so important to the history of Nigeria. In the course of our history, it is difficult to find any other city beyond Niger that has had the history of Kaduna North; it has been home to our legendary founding fathers such as the late Sir Ahmadu Bello, the Sardauna of Sokoto and the Premier of Northern Nigeria. Sir Kashim Ibrahim; Alhaji Ahmed Talib; Alhaji Yahaya Gusau; Chief Sunday Awoniyi; Ambassador Jolly Tanko Yusuf; Audu Macheal Buba; Justice Mamman Nasir; Makaman Bida and Maitama Sule among others. I am not unaware of sacrifices of those who have served before me in the hallowed precincts of what is now known as Magajin Gari.
