The House Parents will provide a “family” atmosphere for male child victims of trafficking, manage the day-to-day care of male child clients and oversee all activities within the Boys Recovery Centre for male child victims of trafficking. The Boys Recovery Centre is innovative in that it does not follow the traditional shelter model, but aims to provide a home (with additional support) rather than an institutional model of care. It has no set time limit for recovery and reintegration for any individual client, but maintains a strong focus on moving boys through a period of recovery and on to reintegration. Recovery will be accomplished through residential support and comprehensive rehabilitation services, which include specialized counseling, psycho-social care, and medical and legal assistance. Steps toward independence and safe social reintegration will be fostered through educational opportunities, life skills, job readiness and vocational skill training. Reporting line: Country Director Purpose: Manage day to day care of clients and assist programme coordinator in implementation of recovery programme. Job Description Main Duties: · Greet clients and orient them to the recovery care centre. · Create a calm, home environment conducive to recovery and reintegration. Prevent and manage any interpersonal issues between clients in the centre. · Ensure clients have time and space for studying, physical fitness, recreation and meals. Teach clients about healthy nutrition, meal preparation and food hygiene. · Encourage clients to independent living and help equip clients with skills required for this. · Liaise with project manager in regards to shopping requirements, needs for meal preparations, building maintenance and cleanliness of centre. · Complete incident reporting accurately and in a timely manner. · Participate in staff trainings and meetings. · Assist the project manager in implementation of project wherever needed. Job Requirements Personal Profile Required: Experience: · At least 3 years experience working with NGOs, with a focus on children. Education & Training: · Completed secondary education and trained in nursing or first aid preferable. Skills: · Fluency in Dari and Pashto required.
