Houston Chronicle schedules job fair, expo Tuesday, June 3 The Houston Chronicles next Hire Houston Job Fair and Career Expo for the year will be held 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday, June 3, in Reliant Arena, Exhibit Hall E. Parking will be $3. Employers will be available to speak with candidates about open positions and applicants experience. The job fair will feature three sections: health care/nursing, engineering/oil and gas and professional/general, allowing job seekers to focus on the areas of interest to them. Applicants should dress for an interview in their chosen field, bring several copies of their resumes and be prepared to meet one-on-one with recruiters on site. Applicants also should be prepared to complete applications on site, and may consider reviewing the many tips available at chron/jobs. The candidates will meet with recruiters face to face and have conversations about open positions and the candidates experience. Its a way to make a resume come to life and meet with someone instead of just emailing a resume to a generic HR email or applying online. Depending on the industry and the position, candidates might set an appointment with a hiring manager, fill out applications on site, go through a full first interview, etc. No preregistration is required. All applicants will be pre-screened at the entrance, with their resumes scanned into the database at all entrances. This database of resumes will be available for the recruiters to review later. Health care/nursing applicants are required to have education or experience in the health care field. Engineering/oil and gas applicants will need a minimum of two years of experience in the engineering or oil and gas industries.
