How does anyone find the Bank of Ireland in Greystones? I lost - TopicsExpress

How does anyone find the Bank of Ireland in Greystones? I lost nearly an hour of my day there today. First I had to queue (along with everyone else), for 20 mins to see the 1 teller who was on duty, despite the queue being at least 12 people long. Then when it was my turn to reach the top of the queue, about 3.30pm, the very polite teller, advised me that they didnt accept coin lodgements after 12 on a Tuesday. (No that is not a joke!) I advised that this was a fundraising lodgement for the charity AWARE, and wasnt actually a personal lodgement. The teller said if I went to customer service, sometimes the manager allowed such a cash lodgement. She said I wouldnt have to re-queue if the manager approved the lodgement. I spent 12+ minutes queuing (behind 4 other people who had already queued in front of me at teller queue, to explain my story, and request permission to make the lodgement. The manager came down and explained that on this occasion, I would be allowed (?) to make the lodgement. (Gee thanks guys - this is a bank right?) She asked me to rejoin the queue which by this time was close to the external door. I explained that Id been told by the teller, that I didnt need to requeue as Id already queued once for 20 minutes, as per the tellers previous explanation. Needless to say, the other customers were not too impressed, but at this stage Id been in the bank over half an hour, and Id 2 children waiting for me in the car (one who had had a bowling ball dropped on her foot, hence she was sitting in the car, not with me). I had not anticipated this arduous effort to make a simple bank lodgement. Eventually I got the lodgement made, and the lovely teller apologised for all the inconvenience. When I left the bank, I had been in the bank for 47 minutes. I had sent one of my children back to the others about half way through the episode to tell the others what was happening. However, I felt slightly sick throughout my vigil, as I never leave kids in the car, - sods law on the one occasion, I tried to do something quickly, it failed spectacularly. One man I met waiting at the customer service desk advised that he frequently had to wait in queues of over 20 minutes in BOI Greystones, and there was usually only 1 teller. He was irate. Im not surprised. Has anyone else had similar delays and bad customer service in this bank? What a joke - but its on the customers. As for BOI, I bet the annual bonuses are being prepared, as I write...........
