However this turns out, boom or bust(Id lean the latter but well see how tonight turns out first), this is one of the most difficult and lower confidence forecasts I can remember making in my decade plus here in South Jersey. Ill watch the next 3-5 hours to see how this unfolds and see if these bands can make it onshore and make up for lost time before throwing in any towel. But needless to say, Ive gained a few gray hairs over the last 48 hours, and pulled out a few this evening too. Right or wrong with this forecast, or any forecast, some understand weather forecasting is an inexact science, others have already sent their hate mail to my inbox. Me, I just take each storm as they come, issue the best possible forecast with an extensive look at all information possible, and learn from the good and bad points of any forecast. The great thing about South Jersey weather...your education as a meteorologist never ends...
