Humphrey Fellowship Program for Working Professionals Experienced professionals interested in strengthening their leadership skills through a mutual exchange of knowledge and understanding about issues of common concern in the United States and their home countries are invited to apply for the Humphrey fellowship Program (HFP) 2015. The fellowship is provided to working professionals in the participating countries of HFP. List of Participating Countries: 1. Sub-Saharan Africa- Angola, Benin, Botswana, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Cape Verde, Cameroon, Chad, Congo DR, Djibouti, Ethiopia, Gabon, Gambia, Ghana, Guinea, Ivory Coast, Kenya, Lesotho, Liberia, Madagascar Malawi, Mali, Mauritania, Mauritius, Mozambique, Namibia, Niger, Nigeria, Republic of the Congo, Rwanda, Senegal Sierra Leone, South Africa, South Sudan, Sudan, Swaziland, Tanzania, Togo, Uganda, Zambia, Zimbabwe 2. Pursue both their individual program goals and work closely with their Humphrey colleagues in workshops and seminars Travel away from their host campus to learn more about American culture and to network with their American peers Programs Supported under HFP: 1. Sustainable Development -Agricultural and Rural Development -Economic Development -Finance and Banking -Natural Resources, Environmental Policy, and Climate Change -Urban and Regional Planning 2. Democratic Institution Building -Communications/Journalism -Law and Human Rights -Public Policy Analysis and Public Administration -Trafficking in Persons Policy and Prevention -Technology Policy and Management -Human Resource Management 3. Education -Educational Administration, Planning and Policy -Higher Education Administration -Teaching of English as a Foreign Language 4. Public Health -Public Health Policy and Management -HIV/AIDS Policy and Prevention -Substance Abuse Education, Treatment and Prevention The fellowship covers- tuition and fees, pre-academic English language training (if required), living allowance along with settling-in allowance, accident and sickness coverage, book allowance, computer subsidy (one-time), air travel (international & domestic – from and to the US & domestic travel to the required program events), and professional development allowance for professional activities (field trips, professional visits and conferences). Eligibility Criteria: -Applicant must have an undergraduate (first university or Bachelor’s) degree with a minimum of five years of full-time, professional experience. -Applicant should have limited or no prior experience in the United States. -Applicant must demonstrate leadership qualities. -Applicant must have a record of public service in the community. -Applicants must have English language ability. Note: Applicants should contact the U.S. Embassy, Public Affairs Section or Binational Fulbright Commission in their country of residence to learn about possible specific program requirements, application procedure and the deadlines. The deadline for Embassies and Commissions to submit the nominations of applicants to the Institute of International Education office in Washington, DC is 1 October 2014.
