***Hungry Hordes of High Schoolers Band Together to Fight Michelle Obama*** Meghan Hellrood, a student at D.C. Everest High School in Weston, Wisconsin, appeared on Fox News last week to discuss a boycott organized by students against the school lunch program. The program follows the guidelines instituted under the Healthy Hunger Free Kids Act, supported by First Lady Michelle Obama and passed in 2010. Meghan told Ainsley Earhardt the students object to both the quantity and the quality of the lunches. “It’s not actually giving us healthy foods. It’s giving us small portions of very processed foods. Kids aren’t happy about that,” she said. Because the meals are not satisfying for active teenagers, Meghan and a few friends get together every day to make sack lunches for kids who cannot afford to bring their own lunches. Their program has received financial donations from the community.
