I Know Dr Amy Yasko is not popular with those doing this protocol, - TopicsExpress

I Know Dr Amy Yasko is not popular with those doing this protocol, and I found her protocol mind-numbing as well, but I remember that one of her most profound recoveries was in a 42 year old who nobody believed ever even understood a word being said. He just shocked them with a full sentence one day. I too have a child (14) who shows very little signs that he is processing language, let alone ready to emerge verbal, but from all the reports I have heard over the years of when it emerges...you find out it was in there all along! Speak to him as if he understands everything and imagine the day he will tell you how much he appreciated this because it showed him your HOPE! Dont be attached to the outcome of him being verbal, but resonate with the fact that he already is. Its just frustrating he is currently unable to show you this! There are two sides to the nervous system. I only remember because in graduate school I had Dr Bowlfor as my Physiology teacher. He was old, I imagined like 80, but now I realize he was probably my age *SIGH*. Anyway, he had scared the shit out of me in a previous class as I sat in the front row tapping my feet to stay awake for this whose idea was this 8 am class anyway when he BELLOWED (thats how I still remember his name Bowlfor - probably not how it is spelled)...The Visceral EFFERENT and it woke my ass up again. Thats about all I really remember for that valuable experience even though I finished my Masters in Exercise Physiology...not much seemed to be from THAT class. During my research years, Im on year 12 of DAILY, HOURLY, ADDICTED to and LOVING the role I play in all of this HEALING World appreciating the Bigs ask little ole ME questions that I only have the answers because WE LIVE it...(but I digress). Well my research honed in on the Autonomic Nervous System partly because this is what Dr Klinghardts PhD is in. Most people dont realize he is not only an MD but also a PhD having written his Dissertation on The Autonomic Nervous Systems Role in Auto-Immunity ... I know ... wow, back in the 70s!!! Well one day he explained something that triggered me looking up the ANS. I already knew a ton about the parasympathetic and sympathetic sides but suddenly I was curious if this Visceral EFFERENT memory had any play in all of this...after all the way life worked...it should, right? Well it turns out that our nervous system is like any old freeway you have ever been on. There is traffic going both ways, and they are completely separate from one another. For LA residents - the 405 South could get you to work in 20 minutes, but coming home on the 405 North if there is an accident is a disaster and just doesnt happen until it is cleared. Our nervous system is EXACTLY the same traffic pattern. MOST of the kids on the Spectrum have a fully functional Visceral Afferent Nerve Fibers. These are basically incoming and innervate the stuff that keeps us alive. The damage/challenge is generally in the Visceral EFFERENT Nerve Conduction which is responsible for the muscles we need to SPEAK. Its nervous transmission in the opposite direction as receptive language. To just cut to the chase (Im obviously not good at that) YOU CAN HAVE PERFECT incoming RECEPTIVE Language and have ZERO indication this is happening because EVERY SINGLE indication that could possibly be given (facial expression, laughter, responsorial language) is a VISCERAL EFFERENT dependent ACTIVITY! The goal of this diatribe was to educate you that beyond HOPE there is SCIENCE behind maintaining the VISUAL of your child UNDERSTANDING EVERYTHING you SAY, DO and APPEAR to be THINKING!!! Your child is NOT NON-Verbal...He/She is just Visceral EFFERENT Challenged!!! en.wikipedia.org/wiki/General_visceral_efferent_fibers en.wikipedia.org/wiki/General_visceral_afferent_fibers
