I, The Lord by ~Penumbra666, Nov 15, 2012, 9:19:45 PM Literature / Poetry / General Poetry / Free Verse It was of great debate that this be true These words of scripture of My being Scribed in the Holy Book of Jude So was given the inspiration of My word But by hands of tainted men was it written That I, the Lord, did now make of all things My greatest marvel and most awesome mistake Just as I had made the Heavens and the Hells And did turn rebellious angels into earthly demons Was I to make My beloved humans as human But to the like of My own image as inhuman Of this did I command what was against their nature And speak great laws of what would contradict their ways Then punish them as to break their bonds as brothers To show them a world that could be without a common tongue Thus to confuse many souls that would then wage war And then they make crusades of Me against Myself There was such chaos and evils I had caused But even through My dark shadow did shine light As brothers of one tongue to brothers of another tongue My most beloved creations did then praise to Me And I, the Lord, and did listen: “The Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Amen!” They repeated over and over again Then they followed such praise with prayers From the rich and most sinful they prayed for forgiveness The more common folk would diligently ask for peace And the poor and sick would earnestly hope for salvation They seemed to have ignored all that evil I did create Thus forcing Me to look into a mirror of Myself Then knew I was the bringer of unanswered prayer “The Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Amen!” And I knew my name as Death That who in my garden could believe of any other sin That not hissed the serpent, nor could sing the maiden To the flesh of my earth and breath of Me Did also set forth in motion the truest of travesties That before the mirror of truth I stood When they were ousted from Eden for harboring false sin As it was I that allowed them to be tainted And become such tragically mortal men And it was I I, the Lord Who did look into the mirror And utter to you my name As I take you back You will know I am Death And it was I I, the Lord Who by writ of human hand And proclaim my word As a bitter scorned father My name to you is Death That who in my garden could believe of any other sin That not hissed the serpent, nor could sing the maiden To the flesh of my earth and breath of Me Did also set forth in motion the truest of travesties That before the mirror of truth I stood When they were ousted from Eden for harboring false sin As it was I that allowed them to be tainted And become such tragically mortal men And I, the Lord, did listen: “The Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Amen!” And I knew my name as Death It was of the Fates that this be true By the divinity of my Holy light Shed by the suns of My Son did shine through By these hands of a God that loved men That I, the Lord, did now make of all things My greatest marvel and most benevolent feat Just as I had made the Heavens and the Earth And did turn the waters of the table to wine Was I to make My beloved humans as human But to the like of My own image so diverse Of this did I command what was against My nature And speak great laws that make a contract between us Then honor this bond with a promise of a lasting peace And show to the world of a great sacrifice of my own blood Thus to cleanse the sins from the hands of all that follow To end the long war between brother and brother And amend the M mistakes with a promise of Me That there would then be order and all things good As My shadow would fade to the power of My light As the different tongues of brothers become as one
