I Withdrew From The NDC National Youth Organizer Contest Based On - TopicsExpress

I Withdrew From The NDC National Youth Organizer Contest Based On Principle Fellow comrades, mine has always been the principle of empowering the youth to earn a living on their own without depending on pittance from political pay masters. It is this principle that led to the formation of the Team Of Popular Youth (TOPY). Unfortunately, even though TOPY Projects were generally accepted to be viable and feasible, no one showed interest in helping to implement them. Some members impressed upon me to contest the National Youth Organizer position of the NDC as an opportunity to influence policies towards the empowering of the youth. As can be attested by all NDC faithfuls who followed this election campaign, I have been adjudged the best candidate with the message and competence. My campaign was solely fought on the merit of our policies not money. Having mobilized support from our teaming supporters to prosecute this agenda, I entered Kumasi full of hope that the play ground would be fair, and MaGA would emerge victorious. Even in Kumasi however, things proved rather disappointing and frustrating to say the least. It became clear to me that the election was no more based on merit and policies but rather on money contrary to our social democratic principles. So bad was it to the extent that most delegates would not even allow me to address them concerning my policies without demanding that I first pay them money. Even as I persisted to address them, there were instances where I was heckled by some delegates. Others said to my utter dismay, “No appearance fee, no message. No money, no vote”. Even after all these I persisted in prosecuting my agenda against all odds. On the day of the election, a video emerged to confirm the extent of monitization of our politics even at the internal party level. In this video, delegates were being given GHS200 each and a promise of another GHS200 after voting. Subsequently, I was contacted by agents of the contestant captured in the video and another candidate, both seeking my support in the election. The first agents promised to pay off all my expenditures with other financial inducements, whilst the second promised to bring on board my youth empowerment policies. In view of the delegates resolve to punish those who did not give them money, which I was the worst culprit, I was left with no other option than to side with one, but in line with our principles and policies. It was solely on this basis that I threw my support behind Ludwig Hlordze. Let it be on record that Gen MaGA did not take any form of inducement, financial or whatsoever from Ludwig Hlordze for this act. To our teaming supporters and well-wishers, I understand your disappointment, as I am also disappointed. The real enemies confronting us now to which we all have to galvanize our energies to fight against is the canker of monitisation our politics without any commitment to youth empowerment. Gen MaGA remains absolutely committed to empowering the youths of our great NDC and Ghana for that matter and will continue to seek your support in bringing that vision to fruition. I wish to thank you all for the massive show of love and support even when I did not induce you in anyway. Let me use this opportunity to congratulate my brother Sidii Abubakar upon his election as the National Youth Organiser of the NDC. Long Live NDC Long Live Ghana #General_MaGA
