I am a Delhi girl. And no, this doesnt have any sense of pride in it. After the shoot at Hauz Khas today, I have sometime till I start another rehearsal. So I decide to eat my lunch JUST outside the venue in my car and pass my time for an hour. And then this happens.. So theres my car parked, with AC on, with a make up clad myself eating my lunch and minding my own business, and then I see this random guy on the other side of fence standing with his stuff hanging out of his zipper. I pretend to ignore it but something FINALLY ticks and blows my lid off. Yes, I am shaking and my hands arent functional much but I point my phone at him as if clicking a picture and that is enough for him to zip up and start walking away. But it isnt enough for me. I get out of my car and start chasing him and this is the time when I scream my loudest ever, swearing at him, telling him to stop, screaming and announcing what he was just doing. He runs to the other side where I cant follow him, sits in his Honda City, and zooms off. There were just 4 people in the vicinity, a rickshaw puller, a teenage girl, and two jobless uncles. And after this episode with the kind of vibe there was, I felt I probably shouldnt have swore at him. It must have been my mistake that I didnt remove my make up and chose to eat first. Obviously my dark red lipstick was asking for it! But after the many such or less eve teasing episodes I have grown up with, today was the first time I stood up for myself, and its the first time Im not depressed. Im proud of myself. Because now that guy wont ever have the balls to do it again coz he had to run away to sit in his car and save himself. Or so I hope. I didnt put it up for sympathy or any other drama, if theres even a single girl who gets inspired from this and stands up for herself, or anyone who takes down on such bastards the next time it happens to a girl, the purpose is met.
