I am a c-section mom My kids were not born in a hospital room with a doctor telling me to push. No one held my legs; no one wiped the sweat away. My kids were born in an operating room, the doctor pulled them out of me with someone holding my hand. I am a c-section mom I did not see my kids come out crying. They were not placed on my chest as I held them for the first time. The father did not cut the umbilical cord. I did not get skin to skin as they wiped them off. I stared at a sheet as my kids came into the world. I think I heard their cries but with all the medications, I barely remember a thing. My doctor cut their cords for the first time and they were placed on a table for the doctors to see. I am a c-section mom I did not hold my kids once they were born, I did not get to be there for them as soon as they were brought into the world. My family did not get to celebrate with me as I stared at the miracle I made. As the nurses took them to the nursery, my family got to meet my kids before I did. I got to meet them almost 2 hours later. I am a c-section mom I did not walk out of the hospital the next day, I wasnt comfortable either. I didnt get up and walk right after my kids were born. I can never lose enough weight to hide that Ive had kids. I had to spend a few days in the hospital and 3 weeks before I was ever comfortable. I wasnt even allowed to walk for 8-12 hours. And no matter how much weight I lose, I will always bare a scar of when my kids were born. I am a c-section mom And I am not sorry. I will not be made to feel bad. I will not allow people to pity me for not having natural births. I will not be questioned on my decisions to have them. I did not give up on labor. And I did not give in too soon. My first act as mother was to lay down on a table and allow myself to be cut open. I am a c-section mom and I thank God every day that I got my children here, no matter how it happened.
