I am a little overwhelmed by this whole Crucible win. It had been nagging us since a year since that infamous Harakiri, and I am yet to process it fully and properly. But gee! Thanks for the love and admiration you guys. First things first, Kamal Rathi, Omkar and Ajay Rao were very kind to explain the format to me, which kinda created a nice little psychological upperhand. During the prep, Two things that were constantly running in my head were Iron Maidens Clansman and the Red Queens race from Alice in Wonderland. And Bhushan every time I met him used to pep talk me up in Pickbrains voiceover. Mother and Boss were terribly supportive and of cource PC sir is somewhere all my inspiration and accountability lies. Ironically in 2013, the question after which we imploded was Hagen Dasz and this time around almost a similar question was based on its origins, within a fraction of a second it was clinched. MS brought all his Clint Eastwood-ish swagger showed guts and gumption took those half-chances and purely on basis of conviction converted em to right answers! BRANDY remains a blotch on my otherwise splendid spelling career. Jugaad was truly a Meta-Answer. We did all possible Jugaad to get that one. Also, they asked a question on H2G2, seeing which I decided to press the buzzer, because come on, no one else can answer an H2G2 question if not me! A HUGE SHOUTOUT TO ALL OF YOU, for your faith and belief and the fact that all of you decided to turn up, leaving everything important you could be doing, being unflinched by the commotion, just to cheer us, made me nervous, a lot. But it meant a lot to us and to Quizzing in entirety. Overall, I guess we had decided to win it and all was very apparent, mere formalities were remaining. Zonals on 9th and Red Queens Race again is taking a major portion of my thoughts. So yeah, thank you for reading, had to push it out of my systim.
