I am deeply concerned about the future of St. Francis Hospital, its patients, employees, vendors and nearby businesses. After careful research and many conversations with individuals with first-hand knowledge of St. Francis Hospital and the region’s healthcare landscape, I support Westchester Medical Center’s bid to purchase St. Francis Hospital. Westchester Medical Center would preserve healthcare options, innovation, competition and jobs. I will be writing a letter expressing this to Chief Judge Cecelia G. Morris of the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York who will decide the fate of St. Francis Hospital by February 10, 2014.
