I am preaching this information to the choir and listen up. You have a family member in along term care facility or a hospital on a long term situation you make sure to check their skin everyday for pressure sores. I am not going to say why I know this expect my immediate family knows on a need to know basis. But I want all of you to take notice and pay attention and watch out for your loved ones. A bed sore with is properly named pressure sore can start out small but it can become a serious and life threatening situation fast. I just wish this was one thing that never happened to people and it is horrific. I used to back in my early twenties be a nurse aide and I saw often early situations and got on the ball quick and I can tell you also I have seen some horrible things and what I say is gospel and you can take it to the bank bed sores can get bad fast. So you must turn a person or alternate how they lay and sit and do it often sometimes every one to two hours and then now days they have really nice pressure sore prevention mattresses and yes a little costly but trust me worth every penney. Take care of your loved ones friends that is my best advice of the week.
