I am reposting a question from a friend... I am totally for the grocery bag ban. My question to you is this. I am a visiting nurse who sees patients -mostly elderly who are on Medicare or Medicaid. Many of them are wound care patients that need to be seen daily. I use those bags to bag up their wound drainage and bandages. If I put them in the main garbage they will smell horrible, and patients with disabilities or ones or who are elderly dont empty their garbages much. They dont have additional money to buy plastic bags. What would be a good thing for me to use? Any thoughts on this? Just as the Salvation Army needed to think through the consequences of the ban, what about this kind of need?
