I am so sorry! I had computer trouble yesterday. So now I am one day behind in Passion Week! But lets look at what happened on both Tuesday and Wednesday during this special time. Tuesday. . . Jesus went to the temple to teach and the Pharisees confront Jesus. Matthew 21:23-27 New International Version (NIV) The Authority of Jesus Questioned Jesus makes sure that the Pharisees know they do not have the authority over Him. He speaks about them in the parable of the two sons, the parable of the tenants, and the parable of the wedding banquet. Then they thought they had Jesus! They asked him about paying taxes. Jesus said, “So give back to Caesar what is Caesar’s, and to God what is God’s.” Matt 22:21 This answer even amazed the Pharisees! Read Matt 21:28-25:41. Jesus proved whos authority he spoke in without really even having to say it! AFTER A LONG DAY< Jesus goes back to Bethany and he is anointed! Matt 26:6-13. Wednesday . . .The plot against Jesus begins to unfold. Matthew 26:14-16 (NIV) Judas Agrees to Betray Jesus 14 Then one of the Twelve—the one called Judas Iscariot—went to the chief priests 15 and asked, “What are you willing to give me if I deliver him over to you?” So they counted out for him thirty pieces of silver. 16 From then on Judas watched for an opportunity to hand him over.
