I am thankful for our military men/ women and their families. It is because their hard work, dedication, selfishness, and their honor that we can lay down at night and feel safe. For those of you who do not know or have never thought about the families of our service men and women, their sacrifice is great as well. My husband Keith Feickert was in the US Army for five years. He did not join the Army alone. He took with him myself and three children. We were moved over 3000 miles from our family and loved ones to Alaska. Within 6 months of being in AK he was sent to Afgainistain for 11 months and I was in AK with no family for support with 3 children. On top of the daily stress of raising kids. These wives/husbands that the service members are leaving behind have a fear daily I can not even begin to explain. A fear of their spouses not coming home. Every time the phone rings you heart stops, every time a car pulls up in your driveway you dont recognize your heart stops. You have fathers missing the births of their children, you have children crying and asking Santa for their parents to come home from war for Christmas. Then you have the service member who goes days without sleeping, days with out eating and unless you have been there you cant imagine what they are seeing and enduring over there, the nightmares they have and the trauma they have for years after. Now that is SACRIFICE, LOYALTY, and that is HONOR. My heart goes out to each and every family who has ever served in the military. Thank you all for your service. And thank you Keith Feickert for your dedication to our country and family. Love you
