I am using gigolo to access some video files from my Mint Xfce 17 - TopicsExpress

I am using gigolo to access some video files from my Mint Xfce 17 but I have a strange problem. The videos are stored in a shared folder in a PC which runs Windows. The strange thing is that while I can access and play most of the videos in my Mint PC, some videos cannot be accessed at all. I get a Permission denied message instead. I checked the attributes of these video files but there seems to be nothing special there. No clue as to why they are inaccessible through gigolo.... Any ideas as to how to proceed?
